Google Is So Ingenious

Comments

Wow, I'm sure they've already thought of it. I mean most other places make you watch a short video ad before you actually see the video. Why not YouTube? Millions $$$
You have been tagged! ;)
I don't know if tacking advertising onto videos is going to be the best way of monitising content.

Thanks Dave. I do think that Adsense will be used to allow sponsors to insert short ads into YouTube videos - not unlike Google has been trying to do with radio spots. I imagine that tagging/keywords that are attached by the community will play a large role in targeting those ads.

Speaking of under-rated...have you seen the info on your lifestyle if you work for Google? Considered the best company to work for...period. Definitely look that one up...will surprize you!

PS: looking forward to your tag post...working my way chronologically here!

I know all too well about Google's benefits ... I went through 11 interviews over 4 months time with them including them flying me out there - in the end it was no dice.
[this is good]
Great point, Joey! Since "absolute power corrupts absolutely," I'm taking bets on how long it takes before Google becomes "evil". >;-)
I hear that Microsoft has quit saying that they'll beat Google, and started calling them the 'evil empire.'

Which is funny.

Is there some sort of 'evil empire' hand over ceremony?
Did AT&T move aside for Microsoft, who have now passed the baton to Google?
will be interesting to see how these ads work from an audience point of view. where will people like / dis-like them the most but still watch enough to make them work. i imagine they'll be testing inserts and post-rolls. will a insert get people to switch? will they watch the post roll?
The key will be for the ads to be as un-intrusive as the text ads that Google pioneered for their search results.
agree. fascinating to watch whether they can replicate.
